ACiQ 12,000/18,000 BTU Slim Ceiling Cassette Mini Split Air Handler

Slim Ceiling Cassettes offer the benefits of a traditional cassette, but with a slimmer design made to fit between 16”-on-center joists. This allows for easier installation in many scenarios. One-way air is featured in Slim Ceiling Cassettes, with return air being drawn in along one edge and conditioned air being delivered from the opposite side. In comparison, traditional ceiling cassettes distribute conditioned air in four directions and take in return air at the center. With high-efficiency heating and cooling capabilities similar to a standard wall-mounted unit, Slim Ceiling Cassette air handlers also include a handheld remote control. Once installed in the ceiling, only the grille is visible, providing a subtle and discreet appearance.

Installation Considerations

Slim Ceiling Cassettes are flush-mounted, which requires removal of enough ceiling material to create a cavity for the unit. The Slim Ceiling cassette is designed to fit between 16” on center joists, and the narrow profile means no changes to your framing will be required in most cases. Additionally, Ceiling Cassettes have factory-installed, onboard condensate pumps to lift the condensation up to 14 inches. From there, it will be necessary to construct a PVC drain system to route the condensation to a safe wastewater location. Refrigerant and wiring connections are the same as the wall mounted units.
