Clean After Each Use: Allow the griddle, burners, broiler, and oven to cool before cleaning. Use a non-abrasive cleaner and warm soapy water to clean the griddle and burner areas. For the broiler, remove any food debris or grease after each use to prevent buildup.
Griddle Maintenance: Regularly scrape the griddle surface to remove grease and food particles. Apply a thin layer of oil after cleaning to help maintain a non-stick surface and prevent rusting. Re-season the griddle as needed to ensure it heats evenly.
Grease Tray and Drip Pan Cleaning: Empty and clean the grease tray or drip pan regularly to prevent grease buildup, which could lead to fires or reduced efficiency. Clean these components thoroughly after each use.
Inspect Gas Connections: Routinely inspect the gas lines and connections for any signs of wear, cracks, or leaks. Use soapy water to check for gas leaks. If you detect any issues, immediately shut off the gas and contact a certified technician for repair.
Check Burner Flames: Ensure the burner flames are blue and consistent. If you notice yellow or uneven flames, clean the burners and check for clogs. Dirty burners can reduce heating efficiency and increase fuel consumption.
Broiler Cleaning: Clean the broiler area regularly to remove any grease and food particles that can accumulate. Make sure the broiler’s flame and ventilation system are functioning properly to ensure safe and even heating.
Oven Maintenance: Inspect the bottom oven regularly for spills, food debris, or grease. Clean the oven’s interior using a mild cleaner to avoid damaging the surfaces. Check the oven’s temperature control and calibration to ensure it cooks evenly.
Control Knob Inspection: Regularly inspect the control knobs for proper operation. Clean them to remove grease and grime that can cause sticky or unreliable operation.
Check the Exhaust Ventilation: Make sure the oven and griddle ventilation system is clear of grease and debris. Clean the vents regularly to prevent overheating and ensure the range operates safely.
Annual Professional Servicing: Schedule an annual service with a professional technician to check for any gas system issues, inspect the burners and oven, clean internal components, and calibrate temperature settings.
