Maintenance Tips
-
Clean Burners and Cooking Surface After Each Use: Once the unit has cooled, wipe down the burners and cooking surface with a damp cloth to remove grease, food particles, and any spills. For stubborn stains, use a mild cleaner or a non-abrasive scrub pad.
-
Inspect and Clean Burner Ports: Regularly check for any buildup of grease or food debris in the burner ports. Use a soft brush or compressed air to clean the ports to ensure proper gas flow and an even flame.
-
Empty and Clean Drip Tray: After each cooking session, empty and clean the drip tray with warm, soapy water to prevent grease accumulation. This helps maintain the cleanliness of the unit and prevents odors.
-
Check Gas Connections for Leaks: Inspect the gas connections for leaks by applying a soapy water solution. If bubbles form, tighten the connections or contact a professional to ensure the gas lines are secure.
-
Maintain a Clean Cooking Surface: Clean the entire cooking surface after every use to prevent grease or food buildup. Dry the surface thoroughly to avoid any risk of rust or corrosion.
-
Monitor the Flame Color: Ensure that the burners are producing a steady blue flame. If the flame appears yellow or orange, the burner may need cleaning or adjustment to ensure proper operation and safety.
-
Inspect the Hotplate’s Stability: Ensure that the hotplate is stable by checking the legs or feet regularly. Tighten any loose components to avoid movement and ensure safety while cooking.
-
Keep Ventilation and Surrounding Area Clean: Clean the ventilation area and ensure that there is no grease or debris obstructing airflow. Proper ventilation prevents overheating and ensures safe operation.
-
Season Cast Iron Grates (if applicable): If the unit has cast iron grates, lightly season them with oil after cleaning to prevent rust and maintain their non-stick surface.
-
Schedule Annual Professional Maintenance: Have a professional technician inspect the gas lines, burners, and all components at least once a year. This ensures that the unit operates at peak performance and remains safe for use.
