Maintenance Tips
-
Clean the Griddle After Each Use: Once the griddle cools down, use a metal spatula or griddle scraper to remove any food residue, grease, and buildup from the cooking surface.
-
Deep Clean the Griddle: At least once a week, heat the griddle slightly, then use a griddle cleaner and a cloth or sponge to thoroughly clean the surface. Wipe away residue and let it cool before applying any oil.
-
Season the Griddle: After cleaning, apply a thin layer of vegetable oil or griddle seasoning to the surface while it is still warm to maintain a non-stick surface and prevent rust.
-
Check the Grease Tray: Empty and clean the grease tray regularly to prevent grease accumulation, which can cause odors or fire hazards.
-
Inspect the Burners: Periodically check the burners for any damage or buildup. If needed, clean the burner ports with compressed air or a soft brush to ensure consistent heat.
-
Monitor Temperature Settings: Regularly check that the griddle is heating evenly and that the temperature controls are functioning properly. If uneven heating is noticed, check for any obstructions or burner issues.
-
Avoid Harsh Cleaners: Never use abrasive cleaners or scrubbing pads that can damage the griddle surface. Stick to mild dish soap and a non-abrasive sponge for routine cleaning.
-
Check Gas Connections: Periodically inspect the gas line and connections for any leaks or wear. Use a soapy water solution to test for leaks and tighten any loose connections.
-
Clean the Ventilation System: Make sure the griddle's exhaust system and filters are clean and free from grease buildup to maintain proper airflow and prevent fire risks.
-
Professional Maintenance: Schedule a professional inspection and servicing at least once a year to ensure the griddle is running efficiently and to address any potential issues with the gas system or burners.
